MORE’s first international project enters trial operation

Press Release

Published July 15, 2026

Stalpu 2 is MORE’s first international project to enter the operational phase and, at the same time, the company’s first hybrid energy project, combining renewable power generation with battery energy storage.

The project comprises a 63 MW photovoltaic plant and a 10 MW / 21 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS). It is expected to generate approximately 76 GWh of electricity annually—enough to meet the energy needs of around 32,000 households—while preventing more than 26,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions each year.

With the commencement of trial operation, MORE establishes an active presence in Romania’s renewable energy market, expanding its geographical footprint and strengthening its regional position in Southeast Europe.

At the same time, the project marks an important milestone for MORE’s Energy Management & Trading business. The company is already active in nine power exchanges across Central and Southeast Europe, having established a strong presence in regional electricity markets. The addition of generation assets in Romania further enhances MORE’s ability to integrate the management of renewable energy and battery storage assets with electricity trading across the region.

This milestone represents the first step in the company’s strategy to expand beyond the Greek market, with the objective of building a strong portfolio of renewable energy and energy storage projects across Southeast Europe.
